SPECIES SPOTLIGHT: SCARLET ELF CUP
One of the joys of walking in the forest at this time of year is spotting Scarlet Elf Cups (Sarcoscypha spp.) These striking little fungi, shaped like tiny red goblets, stand out brilliantly against the muted tones of winter. Nestled among moss and leaf litter, they bring a burst of colour to the woodland floor.
